Clearman`s Galley in San Gabriel

Been going here since I was a kid. Always consistently great food. Fun atmosphere and very relaxed. Expanded menu is priced right, we drive out of our way to go here. Treat yourself and your family, get a burger, the salads are spectacular, cheese bread amazing. Enjoy!!

Generous portions.. good food.. good bar.. plenty of options and seating space. Prices are average what you'd expect to pay anywhere else. Good ambiance for a night out at the bar with friends.

Nostalgiac. San Gabriel is my hometown. My boyfriend's first High school job. My and friends stumping grounds at the original Boat since the mid 80s. The beef dip is on their new location menu. My boyfriend said good with loaded fries but au jus would have been good for dipping. Alex got pastrami burger also new menu with chili fries. For me it's the original fried chicken with 1/2 and 1/2 salad . Red cabbage and blue cheese. Ofcourse their yummy cheese toast. These are my to go to since the beginning. You can't forget a nice big tall beer. Now a days they have a full bar and a variety of beer selections. In the old days it was just ,I think Milwaukee and wine with picnic tables and big screen TVs. Those days it was Go Lakers Go!!

Be hungry when you come here. Two salads, garlic bread [to die for] all you can eat, huge portions. No health food, kale or tofu. Red meat, big fish. Quick waitstaff.

Love this place. The portions are huge! We love the red cabbage salad. The kid's meals are huge. We love all the sports they have on the big screens. It can get pretty loud with football games.

This is a hidden little gem in the San Gabriel Valley. I like to come here when I get the chance to. Good beer selection and good atmosphere. This is an establishment in Rosemead. It has a lot of boats displayed, good for the family. I get the fried chicken dinner with the half and half salad. Super good. The servings are hefty, two people can eat of one plate. It's really relaxed atmosphere. Older crowd, so you save yourself from the drama of things getting out of hand. A lot of TV and sports everywhere. Staff is very nice and always serving you with a smile. Stop by if you get a chance.

Grew up going there in the 70's & 80's, we just love the place, so glad they re-opened to dine in.

This place is awesome! Great menu with some unique items from the original Galley. Always good times with friends and new acquaintances. A full bar with great service.

So many memories of this place as a kid. It's changed a bit, but the food is still pretty good for casual burgers and fries. I've managed to stop drinking the beer over the years, but still can't seem to stop eating this cheese bread :-P

Awesome place with great happy hour specials and a cool place to meet new geocaching members as I attended my first group meeting. Friendly people and great service. Cozy little patio with nice lights and clean. Thank you

Dinner was excellent as always. Food was delicious. Staff members were friendly & helpful. I can hardly wait to visit the Galley again. Additionally, cleaning crew was attending to required details to keep us all well.

Their food is Excellent with now a variety of foods besides chili burgers & fries. On the expensive side since the small restaurant was rebuilt a decade ago from a small shelled out boat used as the galley to cook in to now a sports bar atmosphere welcoming Families with small children. I have been going to Clearman's Galley since I was a young girl & I meet Alhambra High school friends a few time's a year from Class of 1973

I have been coming since 1985. Best burgers!! But that cheesebread, DANGEROUS!!! SOO GOOD. You come here for the food and good times. I come here ever year for my birthday. Seriously a gem of the area.

Clearman's Galley is a great place to come and have some great food. It has lots of TVs so you can see whatever Sports is going on, and it has a very fun atmosphere. However if you do not like loud noises this is a very noisy Place. Great for kids great for family and they have an excellent menu. Come on down and try it!

Great sports bar for food, drinks and catch a game. Same owners as Northwoods inn next door, but sports bar version. Burgers, sandwiches and typical bar grub. I love the hot wings here and the classic cheese bread.

It's not the tiny hole in the wall burger joint it was decades ago, next to their more upscale North Woods Inn. The building has grown from the boat-shaped shack the size of a food truck that you ate at picnic tables there in the parking lot, to an indoor place with a bar and seating for a hundred people easy. The price has grown even more, with burgers running $8+ or so and a side of wedge fries running $6. If you liked this place in the 80s, you probably won't in the 20s.

This has been one of my favorite places for a quick bite for many, many years. I love the half and half (red cabbage and blue cheese) salad along with the cheese bread. The small salad is plenty for a nice lunch.

Excellent. Ordered the turkey club, onion rings, 2 slices of their cheese bread and a bottomless soda. The turkey club was on lightly toasted sourdough. Could have used a little mayo, so it's good that I ordered extra on the side. Onion rings are beer battered. Not greasy. The cheese bread is similar to the bread at Sizzler. And...I got watch a Bowl Game on the big screen while I ate.

Clearmans Galley is one of those places you have to try at least once, but I guarantee you'll be back more! The garlic cheese bread is so addictive it should be illegal, so do yourself a favor and order extra with your meal. They remodeled the place years ago, everything is clean, well organized, there's plenty of seating and there are plenty of televisions to watch your favorite sporting event. The staff is always friendly and the service is always great. They share a huge parking lot with Kohls and North Woods Inn, finding a parking spot is usually not an issue.

Food was really good. The quality of the food was definitely amazing. Place was clean and the service was very friendly. I will definitely be back and will recommend this place to my friends.
